Not too far really. We set off to paddle up to the Folsom Prison (or at least as close as they let you get), but they were pumping out a lot of water from Folsom Lake to power all the ACs for the tail end of this heat wave, and the current was surprisingly strong. We had no problem making headway (have I mentioned that this boat is fast?), but my wife was practicing in the stern and she's a little rusty and had some trouble keeping us heading straight up through the current. We were almost there anyhow...
It was a nice little paddle though, and we stopped off at a little area that no one was around (well, some teenagers dropped by to smoke some pot as we were leaving, but other than that we had the place to ourselves). Loads of blackberries all around as well. Yummm....
The photos are all from my new iPhone. It's actually kind of liberating to not bring the big ole' camera all the time. With this thing it's just snap, apply a quick filter, and share. Heck, the phone is almost worth the two-hundred bucks just for that.
